Just as good as last year only much, much better, Clare Frost and Clive Taylor put together another great event on Florida soil,

This land  had been donated to the city of Dania Beach by the uncle of Clare Frost.
The day dawned sunny and cloudless with a gorgeous temperature of 68 to start the day.

The event is located only a few blocks from US 1 about 25 miles north of Miami and 5 miles south of Ft Lauderdale The location was ideal as to the relaxed out of the way location, and plenty of parking in the nearby lot of the the landmark Dania Hi Li building. The Park itself is a superb show space for vendors and participants, plenty of grass and shade. Parking held at least 1000 plus cars, vans, hot rods and bikes.

There were plenty of vintage BMW machines,. there with the oldest in the 1960’s from R50/2 to R90s.
Triumph, Matchless, Bultaco, Moto Guzzi , etc.

Awards were given for the oldest, the best, and merit awards in all of the classifications of European Bikes, American and Japanese. There were a lot of unusual bikes from some Cannonballs, to a Pierce 4, Ariels, Moto Morini. Many old Harleys and Chiefs in various stages of Patina as well as complete restorations.
Vendors offered everything from beer to brats, leather jackets for the Florida sun, Helmets for brain protection. Other apparel and trinkets were on display. A large and well stocked inventory of used parts and bikes for sales in the flea market area.

In addition to vendors, There was also Harley skill team demonstrations, motorcycle field games, Roller Derby Girls, and a vintage bicycle display. It is the author’s estimate that there were over 30 vendors of bike related parts and 10 vendors of nourishment and trinkets.

In talking with the coordinators of the event it was going to be higher than 350 bike participants. The profits collected from the vendors and show bikes ($15) per bike, would be donated to the “Stray Aid & Rescue” organization of South Florida for the care and maintenance of rescued critters. Also benefiting was Dania Lions Club.

This is a fun event and something for every bike enthusiast in Florida. I traveled over 300 Miles to attend the event and displayed a BMWR50/2 and a R60/2. It was a real good time, great organization and the zing of enthusiasm, the rattle of old engines was heard everywhere on the lush grass and under the Banyan trees.
For next years event go to
